Not going outdoors is not an option when living in Colorado. There is so much to do year round and so much beauty in the state that it would be a sin not to take advantage of our great outdoors. In the spring shoulder season, we love hiking 14ers and snowboarding down! In the end of last season, we decided to tackle Mt. Sherman at 14,035 feet.
With our snowshoes, we packed our board, boots and helmet and headed up the mountain.
It usually takes 4 hours or more to reach the summit, but only 20 min to board down. We usually have to start pretty early in the morning to ensure we summit before afternoon storms roll in.
On this particular day, the hike was pretty easy and the weather was perfect!
